Bookmakers & Exchanges
Matched betting requires two accounts: a bookmaker to place your back bet, and a betting exchange to lay it off. Start with an exchange first — you cannot complete any offer without one.

Betting Exchanges
Start hereAn exchange lets you act as the bookmaker — laying a bet means you pay out if a selection wins. This is how matched betting locks in a result regardless of the outcome. You need at least one exchange account before you can use any offer.
Betfair Exchange
ExchangeCommission: 5% standard
The UK's largest betting exchange. Best liquidity on World Cup and Premier League markets — most matched betting guides use Betfair as the default.
Smarkets
ExchangeCommission: 2% flat
Simple interface, flat 2% commission on all markets. Good liquidity on major football. Worth opening alongside Betfair for better odds on some markets.
Matchbook
ExchangeCommission: From 1.5%
Lowest commission of the three. Smaller liquidity pool than Betfair — best used for popular events where you can get matched easily.
